Part 2

Rhea, quickly grabbed the glass from her mother’s hand, drank and left a little for her mom. Kissed her mom’s forehead and said, ‘’ Mom you need it more than I do, hence please finish it’’ Saying this, she pulled over her jacket alongwith bag and left her house. For her college, she had to take a bus which would take 45 mins to reach to her class.

She boarded the bus, got a seat luckily as it was a Sunday, took out her Finance management book and started reading. While she was seated, she was tapped from behind. She looked behind and to her surprise it was her school friend Tina from Dahanu. Rhea was so happy to see her. Tina was her best buddy in school and both shared so many memories of eating candies, pani puri, ice creams, phantom cigarettes together during old days.

Tina had left Dahanu and shifted to Mumbai when they both were in the ninth grade. Tina’s father who was working in a chemical factory in Dahanu had switched his job and had got a new job in Mumbai. The company gave them a nice apartment nearby Mumbai’s famous Juhu beach. Tina and her parents were unhappy about leaving the small town, but also her parents were happy that Tina would complete her school in Mumbai and hence would be exposed to a better life in future.
