‚Äč He would tell his parishioners when he would be taking confessions so they knew if they had violated the law they would wait till one of the priest was available to take their confession. Most of the congregation adored him for being so truthful and honest and didn't have anything that was unlawful to confess to. Most of their confessions was about spending their money unwisely

One lady was always coming in and confessing to drinking a little too much of the cooking wine while cooking Spagetti and meatballs but father O'Donell did have to agree that her spagetti and meatballs was about the best he had tasted and he didn't think she had turned into a alcoholic from it since she only cooked it twice a month. She was older and just wanted to talk to someone so she camein on his days to take confessions
