​ She relayed the message to the patrol cars situation under control shooter is in custody ending radio silence.At the station fellow officers was slapping them on the backs or giving them the high fives and the sergeant said really loud where they could hear him oh God I was hoping they wouldn't get that cockiness from their old pops but I can see those two apples didn't fall far enough off of the tree. After that he referred to them as the cocky boys of his unit. By then they could see his smile. Every unit after that asked for them to back them on calls when they needed help.

​ That was two years ago and now they were graduating from classes they took to become detectives. The squad had a little party for them. David's father was there.They sat a picture of Mike Connor on the table and even the sergeant told Joesph your pop is looking down and smiling at you detective. I'm sure he's very proud of you and has been ever since day one. Joesph smiled and knew that was eactly right. When he was a boy his father told him one day you'll be wearing this badge. At the party both of them got their old man's detective badges. ..
