Part 6

In the 1980’s interrogation rooms were spaced off and a short distance from wide open spaces. Some were dark and had a shining background light, giving the person being interrogated a chance to be intimated. Today the rooms are furnished with still the typical desk and chair and there is more lighting in the rooms. They are still tight with space limitations but more comfortable in most interrogation rooms. Margo wanted Nancy to be comfortable and not annoyed by her surroundings. It was time to bring Nancy in the station for more questioning. Alice was next. Then, she had an idea and idea that paid off.

Margo wanted to do a more thorough search of Nancy’s home, a search that required Nancy not to be there. She asked, Detective Mike Battles to interrogate her, while she better searched her apartment.

Everything checked out as Margo was searching Nancy’s apartment, Mike was questioning Nancy, who appeared nervous and fidgety. She thought about the many years she could kept the secret and she wasn’t about to be exposed now. Detective Hathaway was feeling frustrated as she sat in her car. Then she noticed a young man entering a room outside the apartment complex, it was a dark room. She got out of her car and approached him, “Excuse me sir, as Margo said as she flashed her badge, “Tell me what is that room, you briefly went into?” The young man looked at her for a second and said, “It’s a storage area, MS. he walks away and then he walks away feeling comfortable that he gave her an answer. “Hey just one more question, is there another entry to that door?” He looked at Margo again, “Yes Ms.”
