Part 2

She was asking her parents to shift to Zirakpur, but they were not willing to leave the village. Jadola, where they lived, where she also lived till three years ago, was a village in Kaithal District of Haryana. Her parents were too much attached to the village. Who would take care of the land, they would say, whenever she asked them to shift to Zirakpur. They had big agricultural land there and agricultural activities kept them busy throughout the year. She argued that they can manage that even from Zirakpur because manual work was done by labor and now and then they could visit from Zirakpur.

The village was not that much far from Zirakpur. It took only two hours drive from the car. But they don't listen. Actually, they never listen to her. She was still a little kid for them, never to be taken seriously. But thankfully they had allowed her to get admission in DAV college in Chandigarh three years ago. Her father put a condition before allowing that she should concentrate on study only, but still, it was a big opportunity for her. After finishing B.A. from DAV college, she was doing M.A. Economics now from Panjab University. Other girls in the village were not lucky like her. There were good education facilities in Chandigarh and it was a happening place. And Zirakpur was almost Chandigarh. Yes, sometimes she got scared in the house, but otherwise, life was good here. Moreover, she hadn't encountered a ghost yet. Perhaps it was in her head due to being alone in the house.
