Part 10

The Roar of the motorbike engine.

It seemed as if the stalker boy was about to reach near the vacant plot behind her house. Go...go...go.

Taking long steps, she took a left turn in thirty feet wide street adjoining her house, looking over her shoulder after every few seconds and also keeping her eyes on the road, especially in the corners. Snakes hide in the corners. After 80 feet, the boundary of the vacant plot began. She could hear the incessant chirping of the crickets from the plot. It was very ominous. She wondered whether it was like that every night or it was because of the deadly cobra. Maybe the cobra was keeping the crickets awake and they were chirping in a chorus to exhibit solidarity.
