Part 1

They were enrolled in school. During their first couple of years when there was any school activity the girls would pray to God to let their parents come to see them. For christmas they would write to Santa and asked him to bring their parents back to them. Instead they got dolls and a doll house which their uncle assembled upstairs in one part of the attic One year they received a dog which was fairly large and stayed on the enclosed back porch. It was the girls responsibility to feed him and give him fresh water every day.

They named the dog Scrappy. He lived up to his name tearing anything he to scraps of nothing. Finally when the girls was in the third grade of school their uncle Sam told them that Scrappy needed to go live on the farm of their uncle so he would have room to run. The girls agreed to let him go to the farm. The ride to the farm was thirty minutes of the most beautiful scenery you could immagine.
