Part 1

​ she applied to be a ranger in the new wildlife refudge in her home state of Missouri. She was promoted to be the head ranger Abby drove by her old home on her way to the refudge. The house had been vacant for the whole five years. She wanted to stopped in but was afraid to untill she saw the sign that read open house at one p.m. to four p.m. for potential buyers. She knew she would be taking a chance but it was her way to say goodbye and see the house for one last time.

​ She drove to the real estate company and abroaded their tour bus to the houses on their open house list to try not to be so noticeable. The tour lasted a good three hours but she was able to look around her old home. It did make her feel close to Jim again. Their favorite picture was still hanging on the wall above the fire place. It was a picture painted by Thomas Kinkade of a house in the wilderness. She wanted to grab it but knew better. He had gave it to her for her birthday. She overheard one potential buyer tell his spouse how great it looked over the fire place and she diffinately wasn't going to change it's place if it came with the house.
