Part 3

​ At times he seemed to tower over all of them and was becomimg more demanding especially over Kathy and the two younger children especially Charlie. She couldn't do anything right in his eyes and wanted to play with Jasper and he became so jealous he would kick the dog and on July the fourth he threw a tennis ball that had a firecracker in it to Jasper and when he went to fetch it it went off right in front of him and burned his face. He claimed that he found the ball in the yard and didn't know it had anything in it. The neighbors knew better but they seemed afraid of him

​ One day he told Charlie to do the dishes so she stacked the.dishwasher and thought she had turned it on before going out to play with Jasper. Joe called her into the kitchen and opened the door and stucked her head in it by grabbing her hair and threatened her then turned on the dishwasher. The next day the dishwasher turned it self off due to a malfunction and Kathy called the repairman He refused to appologized to Charle then took it out on Jasper making Charlie watch him beat poor Jasper up so bad that they thought he was dead. Charlie begged Samatha to please take him to a doctor which after Joe and Kathy left to go to dinner and a movie they loaded Jasper up and took him to the vet where he would be taken care of with a note to save him and find him a good home. That night Charlie cried herself to sleep.
