Part 3

Preface to the Topical Storm

In 1988, the National Weather Service and Mythologist, Kenley Scott of FRC Channel sixteen, predicted a severe storm watch for surrounding areas such as: Newport City, Springfield, and Leesburg, Alabama.

Sitting, just waiting until the most comfortable moment, Adair watched for the up and coming waterspout. The Weather lady, Kenley Scott predicted the storm would last for five days. Adair checked last minute details as she lit her “never say die” candle. She tested it up against the tower of hot fire flames in her mouth that hid behind a still clock she never choked on.

She waited for more than a few drops to fall before she began her terror against Taylor Plaza. It was now a tropical storm. Adair smiled as she left her house knowing it would be the beginning of the end.
