Part 5

On reaching the village, he walked her to her house and asked her to remain there till he sorts outs things. She gladly agreed. She was exhausted after the day’s events. The story related by Sam seemed out of a fantasy novel. Everything seemed so these days. She thought about the main characters and a sense of sadness settled on her. The father had loved his daughter so much and had to endure this torture of seeing her dead because of his genius. She wondered what she would do if she was the daughter re-incarnated. Her first reaction was that she should surely let the village suffer for the cruelty they had dealt with the Magician’s daughter. But, she couldn’t think of being so cruel herself. The villagers had had their share of bad luck, which they accepted as a penance. The more she wondered about it, the more she was confused.
