Part 2

That night, she did an all-nighter again. She definitely didn’t want to sleep and there was a lot on her mind to let her to sleep anyway. She thought about the incident that evening. She was confused what to think about Sam. Before she met him, she had assumed he was just another guy with great looks. She was just worried about getting past his girlfriend(s). Now, after the encounter, she was terrified. The warning he gave to her guide left her no doubt that it was dangerous to have anything to do with him.

The next few days, went on peacefully, the guide showed her around the village. The village had so many aspects to it. On one side, it was located at a beautiful mountain-side. The sunrise and sunset through the mountains were so beautiful, that she sat on her balcony almost everyday watching it. The stream that passes through the village was cool and beautiful. The green paddy fields, the orchards, the beautiful flowers in every house, the village was truly a feast for the eyes. Somehow, even with all these nature’s abundance, the villagers were not happy. She could see it in every face she met. Every household had some story of tragedy to tell. Yet, they were hopeful. She realised in the interviews she did with the villagers that all of them believed that their days of sadness will come to an end. They will be able to overcome the obstacles that they face whenever they try to start a new business or try to make some money. Nature fed them in abundance, and they were satisfied about it, but, that was the limit to that. They could not make money out of their abundance nor were they able to relocate to a better place.
