One day shortly after being assigned to the cold case file division Mac and the sheriff held a press conference and told the public about the new unit. The next day a senior in high school came to the sheriff's office asking to please see him. At first he was reluntant to reopen the case since her father had been convicted of murdering her mother a dozen of years before and then she brought up the cold case division and was told that they had their hands full of unsolved cases to go home and be glad that she had such a loving grandmother. She had copies of the court decuments on her possession which she had kept in her locker at school with her and instead of just leaving and going back home she got onto the elevator and went down to the cold case file division.
