‚Äč Now the case was twenty years old and he wished he had been there investigating it those twenty years ago because he wouldn't have cared about who was who and what families you could step on their toes and what families you couldn't because they were desendants of the town's founding fathers and more important families in that town One lady every time you talked to her she would bring up her family was one of the town's founding fathers and she never let anyone forget it and if she wanted someone to be banished from society her tongue could do it. Her gossip could weld a knife if it wanted to. Mac was turned off by that kind of way of thinking and talking.
