Michael Savro is a swarthy Greek, and the owner as well as chef. He speaks fluent English with a thick accent. It's obvious that Allie is crushing on him. She is doing everything short of batting her eyelashes. Les kicks me under the table when he tells Allie she is the most beautiful woman to ever grace his restaurant. She is eating it up, but I'm thinking, This place has only been open three weeks, you can't come up with a better compliment than that? Leslie must share my skepticism of the macho lothario before us, even if she won't say so.

The restaurant has almost cleared out when Michael stands with a flourish, "I will make a special dessert for you special ladies!" He cups Allie's chin before leaving and croons, "Kalos."

Les and I wait until we're sure he is in the kitchen before laughing. Allie is full-on doe-eyed. "Isn't he gorgeous?"

"Yeah, If you like a side of arrogant with your gorgeous."

Allie snorts, "You guys! He comes from a different culture where men take care of women."

"More like objectify them."

"You're so hypercritical. I think he has old-world charm and I find it endearing."

With a smirk I ask Leslie, "What do you think?"

"I've known the man all of five minutes, I haven't formed an opinion."

I groan, "Typical."

Les' opinion on any given subject is always withheld until she has all the facts. Then, after careful consideration, she presents the options as if she's in a fricking board meeting.
