Part 4

Zadkiel watches as I grab my box of Cocoa Pebbles and the milk. I needed a distraction something to keep me from staring into his… beautiful brown eyes… wait, WHAT!? I turn to Elena, “What’d I miss yesterday?” I ask coughing. She shrugs, “A fight between Rose and Jaime apparently Rose cheated on him with Lendon, now she’s got an ex- boyfriend and a baby on the way, Mr. Cole was curious as to where you were yesterday something about life and death or some good shiz, you know what that was about?” She lifts an eyebrow. I sigh and nod. ‘I am already out of school’ Zadkiel’s voice implanted into my mind. I scream in shock and my spoon clatters on the floor. Elena touches my shoulder, “What, what’s the matter?” I ignore her and glance at Zadkiel who is shaking his head. A headache swims above my eyes. “Oh, I am fine, I thought I saw a… uh- hmm a spider.” I give her a quick smile grasp the spoon off the floor, throw it in the sink, and yank another one from the drawer. Zadkiel smirks to me and plops into the chair in front of me. I roll my eyes and turn my head down to my cereal. ‘Anyways as I was saying before you overreacted,’ I jump and lay my spoon on the table then look up to Zadkiel, ’before I… passed on I had been a senior in Lufkin High School, I passed away before I graduated. Would you like me to go to school with you… you know just to keep you safe?’ I curse under my breath and look around. Elena’s eyes stay glued to me. I nod and go back to eating. “No, but they are allowing us to enroll him, so let’s go…” I say.
