Part 7

She smiled; realizing he had just called her by the nickname he gave her when first met. Mikey was the one she had given him so long ago. He was nearly a year older than her. That day they met, she was only six and he was seven. She remembered that day clearly.

Elaina sobbed loudly as she sat upon the ground, her back against an old oak tree. She had roamed into the woods even after her mother had warned her not too. Earlier she had decided to go against her mother's orders after hearing something from within the woods. It had caught her attention and without a second thought, she entered the nearby woods to see what was making the noises. Humming and singing, she had skipped down a single path with curiosity. Before she knew it, she was lost and had tripped over a root, busting her knee open. She knew she would be in trouble, but she didn't care anymore, she missed her mommy and just wanted to go home now.
