Part 6

Slowly, he sat up and scratched his head.

“I'm fine Catherine, thanks, but please don't worry about me.” He assured her.

Usually Catherine had a tendency to worry about those she cared about, sometimes worrying too much. A sigh slithered past her parted lips. Catherine frowned, her expression filled with worry.

“Have you been getting enough of…you know…blood?” She asked with a hint of unease in her tone as she scrunched up her nose.

Both Catherine and Donald had known about him not being human. Shockingly, the first time he bothered to tell them about his vampire blood, they were far from being afraid. He had feared he would have to erase their memories and send them away, but it wasn't like that at all. As he remembered, Catherine had said, “Well heck, you're one lucky son of a gun. Getting to stay young forever and never worrying about aging like this old bat.” She had laughed. “But that is pretty nasty having to drink blood and all, so don't ever bother asking me to become like you.”
